I have been fascinated with the creation of art and obsessed with my own need to create art all my life.

My self-expression in art has been a driving force and a golden thread through which I strive to connect to you on a soul level.

ABOUT JANICE

For me painting means diving deep into the realms of expression and emotion and allowing my hands to move the paint into an ebb and flow of mark making, building the surface with brushes and palette knives until I resonate with the passages of paint and colour.

My early years were filled with crayons and paper, comic books, and an innocent connection with fairies and all things magical. Drawing and painting were my gift and resulted in distinctions in Art at school. The natural step into Graphic Design after school taught me about discipline, focus and conceptual art, and was hugely beneficial in my journey through my artistic evolution.

In my 40's I embarked on my fine art process, after having studied the various disciplines of oils, acrylics, watercolours, charcoals, within the classic "life studies" of still life, landscape and figure studies. These studies gave me a very good grounding from which to experiment on my own artistic practice and it took years to develop my own "style". To paint in a way that resonated with my inner artist from the deepest most authentic truthful and emotional parts of myself.

These 35 years of fine art have been my "Golden Thread" from which I have never given up, never allowed any set backs to stop me and always kept my faith in that one day I would be really grateful and happy with the expression and flow of creativity in my work and that has been my greatest joy !!

Scotland Paintings

The Old Man of Storr is fantastic mountain on the island of Skye in Scotland. I have seen and experienced this amazing scene twice now, and I really wanted to capture the majesty of this iconic scene. Spirit Paintings

I was inspired by the abundance of colours dancing through my meditation and the gold crystalline forms moving through them and then a bee appeared to me….. and in response to this meditation I painted my memory of it. Bees hold such a special and crucial place in our lives and the life of our planet, and as the guardians of our planet we need to remember the importance of them and the order, good luck, prosperity, and abundance they bring to us.
