JANICE LAZZARICH BIO

​

Janice has been drawing and painting all her life. She has always had a passion for art and she has never been able to see herself as anything other than an artist! Janice went straight from school into graphic design in advertising, and transitioned into fine art in her late 30's. She did 5 years of fine art evening classes with a well know artist in Cape Town, South Africa, while still working in advertising. Janice has had 3 solo exhibitions and taken part in many group exhibitions. She has paintings in private collections in South Africa, United Kingdom, United States, The Netherlands and Australia. Janice has also illustrated five children's books during part of her creative journey.  She runs ongoing oil painting sessions twice a week for people to explore the wonders of oil paint!

1994 to 1997  4 YEARS of FINE ART COURSES: with Ryno Swart in Observatory, Cape Town,    South Africa from 1994 to 1997 - which comprised of 6 month semesters in the  evenings

(as I was still working in advertising in the daytime) We studied oil painting, watercolour painting, pastel painting, charcoal drawing and anatomy.

1974  HIGH SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS: O’Levels at Oriel Girls High, Salisbury, Rhodesia. Our    family relocated to Salisbury Rhodesia when I was 10 years old. Then we relocated                    back to Cape Town, South Africa in 1978 when I turned 20 years old.
